Dr. Gawas is an engagement identity assumed by Sierra. She is programmed as an anesthesiologist from the Center for Disease Control with the objective of sedating Freemont College's students under the effects of a strong narcotic drug that spreads like a virus. It is in this identity that Sierra also becomes affected and maintains at least some residual memory, an event that causes her to remember her recent rape and her transformation into an active.
